Dan Wright
Trumpet | Flugelhorn

Dan Wright co-founded the New London Brass in 2023 with Mark Schirmer, our original trombonist and resident arranger. In addition to New London Brass, Dan participates in several other groups, including the New Hampshire Philharmonic, Filarmonici Di Cefalu (Cefau, Italy), Tall Granite Big Band, East Bay Jazz Ensemble, and East Bay Jazz Septet.
Dan also plays in quite a few pit orchestras, including recent productions of Les Mis, Sound of Music, and Something's Rotten.
Samples Performances
Here are some samples of Dan playing with New London Brass.
Solo Multi-Track Recordings
On the jazz side, here are some solo recordings I did in my home studio about 10 years ago now. These tunes are my own arrangements and I'm playing all the instruments - Bass, Piano, Trumpet, Flugelhorn, and synthesized Soprano Sax.
I hope you enjoy them!
In a Sentimental Mood
A nice jazz trio version of Duke Ellington's classic melody.
All Blues (Kind of Blue)
My version of "All Blues" by Miles Davis, including an improvised Soprano Sax solo played on a weighed keyboard with the sensivity turned up - which gave me those "fluffy" sax attacks.
The Wedding March
A beautiful version of the Wedding March, commissioned by my friends and played at their lakeside wedding in Lake Tahoe.
