About Us
The New London Brass is a traditional brass quintet (with a jazzy edge) based in New London, New Hampshire.

Our group consists of seasoned musicians who are passionate about bringing the joy of live brass music to audiences of all ages. We offer a wide range of musical styles, from classical to jazz, and perform at a variety of events.

Trumpet | Flugelhorn
Dan Wright
Dan is from North Sutton and plays trumpet in several orchestras, brass quintets, pit orchestras, and symphonic bands in the upper valley. Dan is also a long-time jazz player and sits in regularly with the Tall Granite Big Band and the Cinammon Jazz Trio.​

Dan will be playing Principal Trumpet for the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra in their upcoming season of holiday concerts, including performances of The Nutcracker and Holiday Pops at the Seifert Performing Art Center in Salem, NH.

Horn
Ako Shiffer
After performing in small ensemble, chamber, musical pit, and orchestral groups in Washington D.C metropolitan area for 20 years, she and her husband Jason made the big move to New Hampshire in 2017. At home she plays horn for her goats, guardian dogs, chickens and ducks on her homestead in the middle of enchanted woods in Wilmot. Sometimes she gets to perform for bears and coyotes afar.
While not tooting, she enjoys anything fiber arts, like knitting and spinning and dreams about having her own alpaca(s).

Larry Jones
Larry Jones is actively involved in the management of numerous non-profit musical groups in New England. His prime focus is on mid-19th century brass music. He performs using period instruments with such groups as the Yankee Brass Band, the 12th NH Regimental Serenade Band, the Newmont Military Band, and on occasion, travels to Washington, DC or Gettysburg Pa to join the Federal City Band.
Currently Larry is the Principal Tubist with the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra and is a community player with the Keene State Concert Band.​

Doug Dean
Originally from Memphis but now a 30+ year resident of Sutton, Doug is a member of the Kearsarge Community Band and the Tall Granite Big Band.
He continues to arrange Christmas music for multi-generational bands each year at the church where he served as pastor until his retirement in 2022.
Trombone
Vicki Moore
Vicki will be performing Arthur Pryor's "Thoughts of Love" with the UVCB at the Lebanon Opera House on January 12th. Come support Vicki as she performs a very challenging piece form the trombone repertoire!
Vicki's musical roots began in the famous Lassiter High School band in Marietta GA. She went on to study music at the University of Illinois (BS) and University of Massachusetts Amherst (MM). She was an Air Force musician in the Heartland of America Band and the Massachusetts Air National Guard. Vicki performed in the Monadnock region and taught in a variety of settings in the Keene area for over 20 years including Keene State College and St. Joseph Regional School.

She is excited to become a member of the New London Brass. Vicki is passionate about hiking and photography and enjoys exploring the natural wonders of the Granite State.
